Baseball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

If Mountain View was feeling good fresh off their 12-6 takedown of Bishop Kelly last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mountain View Mavericks took an 18-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Owyhee Storm on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Mavericks in their meetings with the Storm: they've now lost six in a row.

Cooper Schneidt and Braylon Schellhammer did some serious damage despite the final result: Schneidt scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Schellhammer scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Tav Hiaring was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mountain View fell to 2-1. As for Owyhee, the victory (which was their 20th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Coming up, Mountain View is taking a road trip to face off against Middleton at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Owyhee, they will be playing at home against Bonneville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
