Jemez Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 74-42 loss at the hands of the Ruidoso Warriors. One positive for the Warrior, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Augustine Saiz was a one-man wrecking crew for Ruidoso as he dropped a double-double on 31 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Kacey Blaylock, who posted eight points in addition to seven assists and six steals.

Jemez Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Ruidoso, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jemez Valley will take on Magdalena in a tournament on Thursday. As for Ruidoso, they and Socorro will face off at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
