Baseball Recap: Batavia's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Batavia has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.04 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Lakota East Thunderhawks. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Batavia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Scott, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Batavia's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-5. As for Lakota East, their win bumped their record up to 15-10.

When Batavia and Lakota East next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Bulldogs will face off against Manchester and their four-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Batavia 3, the Greyhounds 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lakota East will try to stop Loveland's four-game winning streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
