Softball Recap: Vanguard Takes a Loss

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Vanguard was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell 7-2 to the Forest Wildcats. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 9-8.

Mia Donken made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Vanguard has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Forest, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Vanguard will venture away from home to square off against South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Forest, they will head out to take on Lake Minneola at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
