Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Rocky Mountain Lutheran turned things around against Denver Waldorf on Thursday. They pulled ahead with a 23-22 photo finish over the Spartans.

Rocky Mountain Lutheran found their leader in freshman Katy Shade, who went 7 of 15 on her way to 14 points and eight boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shade has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Gizelle Luna, who posted three points and three blocks.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mile High Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Victory Prep Academy 49-10. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Mile High Academy's win came from a few key players Rocky Mountain Lutheran will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kylie Helm, who went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points and six rebounds. Addy Dodds was another key player, putting up 13 points and five steals.
Mile High Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.
Mile High Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.6 points per game. As for Rocky Mountain Lutheran, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Rocky Mountain Lutheran has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Mile High Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
