Baseball Recap: Springfield Gardens Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Springfield Gardens and Edison have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Golden Eagles lost 21-2 to Edison. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Edison this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 on Monday.

Springfield Gardens' loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Edison, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Coming up, Springfield Gardens will square off against Van Buren at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Eagles are facing the Vee Bees at the right time seeing as the Vee Bees are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Edison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hillcrest at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.73 runs per game on average), something Edison will no doubt try to take advantage of.
