Basketball Recap: Hudson Takes a Loss

Hudson was the 66-59 winner over Crockett when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Hudson Hornets fell just short of the Crockett Bulldogs by a score of 62-60 on Friday. While the Hornets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 20-15 in the first quarter.

Jayvon Bedford was his usual excellent self, going 10 for 16 on his way to 23 points and three steals for Crockett. The game was Bedford's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahkiem McKnight, who posted 16 points.

Hudson's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Crockett, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Hudson will look to defend their home court on Friday against Klein Oak at 11:00 a.m. As for Crockett, they will be taking part in a tournament against Rusk at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
