Volleyball Recap: Copper Hills Grizzlies vs. Mountain Ridge Sentinels

Copper Hills and Mountain Ridge squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Copper Hills had to settle for second. They came up short against the Sentinels, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Sentinels this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat last Tuesday.

Lindsey Whittaker paced Copper Hills' offense, picking up 11 kills. Whittaker got some help from Paige Jensen and her 27 assists.

Mountain Ridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madi Ryan, who had 18 digs and two assists. Ryan is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammy Roberts, who had 16 assists and eight digs.

This is the second loss in a row for Copper Hills and nudges their season record down to 10-19. As for Mountain Ridge, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 26-3.

Copper Hills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Farmington on the 29th. As for Mountain Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Bingham on the 29th.
