Football Recap: Jarod Fata Leads Piner's Defense on Friday + How To Watch

Piner lost against Willits back in August of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Prospectors lost 35-14 to the Wolverines.

Although Piner took the loss, they still got scores from Hagos Filmon and Kamuriun Kerr Cobb.

Even if they lost, Piner's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 3.5 sacks. In that department, Jarod Fata was the leader with two.

Willits' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ricky Britton led the charge by rushing for 153 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Britton's longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards. Another back making a difference was Porter Garman, who gained 76 total yards and two touchdowns.

Piner's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Piner will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Analy at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Willits, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 54-0 win against Upper Lake on the 12th.
