Baseball Recap: Covenant School of Jacksonville Has No Trouble Against Riverside

While Covenant School of Jacksonville put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Riverside. Covenant School of Jacksonville blew past Riverside 10-0. Considering the Warriors have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan Kogut looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Randy Parker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Landon Jones, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Covenant School of Jacksonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverside only posted a batting average of .125.

With the win, Covenant School of Jacksonville broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-9. As for Riverside, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Covenant School of Jacksonville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Atlantic Coast at 6:30 p.m. on April 7. As for Riverside, they will face off against Ribault at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
