Basketball Game Preview: Promise Prepatory Academy Knights vs. HALO Wolfpack

Promise Prepatory Academy is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Thursday. They will venture away from home to face off against the HALO Wolfpack at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Promise Prepatory Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Tuesday, Promise Prepatory Academy blew past Varsity Opponent, posting a 68-28 win. The Knights have beaten Varsity Opponent the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Varsity Opponent has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, HALO played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 75-45 loss at the hands of New Creation Christian Academy. The Wolfpack were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-22.

Promise Prepatory Academy will need to focus on slowing down Kenneth Haynes, one of several HALO players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards. Haynes is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last 33 games he's played dating back to last season. Mason Dukes was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Promise Prepatory Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for HALO, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Promise Prepatory Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against HALO in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 58-54 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Wolfpack's Trenton Grissom, who dropped a double-double with 34 points and 13 boards.
