Baseball Game Preview: Darlington Falcons vs. Hartsville Red Foxes

For the second straight game, Darlington will face off against Hartsville. The Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Red Foxes at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Darlington has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Darlington is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Hartsville on Tuesday. They lost 17-2 to the Red Foxes.

For Hartsville's part, Brandon Anderson made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Anderson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Dorian Mason was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Web Barnes, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Hartsville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Darlington only posted an OBP of .353.

Hartsville's record now sits at 16-4. As for Darlington, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
