Basketball Recap: Calvary Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Made Leppard and Zoe Troy

After flying high against Non Varsity Opponent two weeks ago, Calvary Academy came back down to earth. The Calvary Academy Warrior lost 44-23 to the King's Christian Knights on Tuesday. The Warrior were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 33-26.

Despite the defeat, Calvary Academy had strong showings from Zoe Troy, who posted nine points and eight boards, and Made Leppard, who had six points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Troy a new career-high in shooting accuracy (57%).

King's Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vivian Galvis, who went 7-for-17 on her way to 14 points and five steals. Galvis is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Lillian Logan was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

Calvary Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for King's Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14.

Looking ahead, Calvary Academy will head out to challenge King's Christian at 6:30 p.m. on February 25th. As for King's Christian, they will host St. Joseph at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
