Basketball Game Preview: Nebraska Lutheran Knights vs. Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles

Nebraska Lutheran is 1-9 against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Nebraska Lutheran Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Nebraska Lutheran is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.

Nebraska Lutheran is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-50 heartbreaker at the hands of Osceola.

Nebraska Lutheran might have lost, but man, Barrett Koontz was a machine: he went 5 for 10 on his way to 17 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Otte, who posted 17 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Bruning-Davenport/Shickley had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Twin River with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 60-42.

Bruning-Davenport/Shickley's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Nebraska Lutheran, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Nebraska Lutheran opened the new year with a less-than-successful 35-26 defeat to Bruning-Davenport/Shickley. Can Nebraska Lutheran avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
