Volleyball Game Preview: American Eagles vs. Irvington Vikings

American hasn't had much luck against Irvington recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. American will be playing at home against Irvington at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, American was able to grind out a solid victory over Kennedy, taking the game 3-1. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

The final score came out to 25-13, 24-26, 25-10, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Irvington beat Mission San Jose 3-1 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

The victory didn't come easy: Mission San Jose scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-19, 25-21.

American now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Irvington, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

American came out on top in a nail-biter against Irvington when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will American repeat their success, or does Irvington has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
