Preview: St. Francis Indian Warriors vs. White River Tigers

St. Francis Indian is 1-7 against White River since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The St. Francis Indian Warriors will be playing at home against the White River Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

St. Francis Indian was handed a 32-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Todd County on Friday. St. Francis Indian had just enough and edged Todd County out 59-56. The win was just what St. Francis Indian needed coming off of a 80-48 defeat in their prior contest.

St. Francis Indian relied on the efforts of John Gunhammer, who scored 17 points, and Ty Valandra-Fast Horse, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Valandra-Fast Horse has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Spotted Tail, who scored nine points.

Meanwhile, White River had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They blew past Philip 62-38. White River has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season.

St. Francis Indian's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-3. As for White River, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
