Softball Recap: Octorara Area Braves vs. Ephrata Mountaineers
Octorara Area fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Ephrata on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mountaineers by a score of 15-14. One positive for the Braves, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Peyton Motes was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. She also got two hits, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Devyn Harrington, who went 2-for-5 with one triple and one run.
Even though they lost, Octorara Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ephrata only posted an OBP of .380.
Octorara Area is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for Ephrata, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Octorara Area has already played their next contest (against Muhlenberg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Ephrata, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-0 win against Palmyra on the 24th.
