The Scotts Valley Falcons will head out to face off against the Carmel Padres at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Scotts Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Carmel will be up against a hot Scotts Valley squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Scotts Valley was the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Santa Teresa on Thursday. Considering the Falcons have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Chloe Kent made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Kent was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Wilson, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Murray-Skalland, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.
Scotts Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Carmel earned a 10-7 victory over San Lorenzo Valley on Friday.
Chloe LeMaster was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nicole Tapson, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Scotts Valley's record is now 4-2. As for Carmel, their record now sits at 3-1.
Saturday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Scotts Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Carmel struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Scotts Valley came up short against Carmel in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 6-3. Can Scotts Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
