Baseball Recap: Fruita Monument Takes a Loss

Fruita Monument lost against Castle View back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Fruita Monument fell 12-8 to Castle View. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Josh Weaver was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Ryan Brackett also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Weaver wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Fruita Monument kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Fruita Monument's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Castle View, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Fruita Monument will take on Montrose at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Fruita Monument's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Castle View, they will square off against Grandview at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
