Softball Recap: Brushton-Moira Panthers vs. Norwood-Norfolk Flyers
After flying high against Parishville-Hopkinton on Monday, Brushton-Moira came back down to earth. The Panthers took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Norwood-Norfolk Flyers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flyers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-5 back in April.
Lillian Jones was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Madisyn Parent, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Brushton-Moira has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Norwood-Norfolk, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Looking ahead, Brushton-Moira will take on Tupper Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Norwood-Norfolk does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
