Volleyball Preview: Orrick Bearcats vs. Kingsville Tigers
After both having extra time off, the Orrick Bearcats and the Kingsville Tigers will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Orrick is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Orrick finally turned things around against Trenton on Saturday. They skirted past the Bulldogs 2-1.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Orrick got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 28-26.
Meanwhile, Kingsville was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Drexel.
Orrick's victory bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Kingsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Orrick beat Kingsville 3-1 in their previous meeting back in October of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Orrick since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
