Basketball Game Preview: Triton Cobras vs. Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Bulldogs

The Triton Cobras will head out to square off against the Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Triton will head into Tuesday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 24) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-61 win over Blooming Prairie. 64 seems to be a good number for the Cobras as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton entered their tilt with Medford on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 79-21 win over the Tigers. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Triton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Triton came up short against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 77-68. Can Triton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
