Baseball Game Preview: Wilson Prep Tigers vs. New Life Christian Academy Warriors

The Wilson Prep Tigers will take on the New Life Christian Academy Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Wilson Prep got the win against Southeast Halifax by a conclusive 14-1. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won eight in a row.

Parker Ginn and Anthony Ellis did most of the damage at the plate: Ginn scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Ellis scored two runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave Ellis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Deandre Sellers, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and two RBI.

Wilson Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southeast Halifax only posted an OBP of .467.

Meanwhile, New Life Christian Academy had to kick off their season on the road on March 4th, but they showed no ill effects. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Non Varsity Opponent 7-6.

The team relied heavily on Landen Smith, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Cannon Bell was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Wilson Prep now has a winning record of 2-1. As for New Life Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
