Softball Recap: Huntsville's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Huntsville was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Summit last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Huntsville Panthers fell just short of the Anderson County Mavericks by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 7-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2022.

Huntsville's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Anderson County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Huntsville will be taking part in a tournament against Hazel Green at 4:30 p.m. on March 18th. As for Anderson County, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 8-1 loss against Arab on the 11th.
