Basketball Game Preview: Pelion Panthers vs. Saluda Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Pelion Panthers take on the Saluda Tigers at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday... Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Pelion beat Ninety Six 45-39.

Kolton Rogers was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Pelion's points. Zyan Davis was another key player, putting up six points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Pelion smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ninety Six only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Meanwhile, Saluda didn't have too much trouble with American Leadership Academy on Friday as they won 50-34.

Saluda pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Pelion, they are also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
