Baseball Recap: Ridge View Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Ridge View's offense. They came up short against the Sumter Gamecocks on Thursday, falling 7-0. The Blazers just can't catch a break and have now endured 14 losses in a row.

Ridge View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob O'Neil, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that O'Neil has hit this season.

Ridge View's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Sumter, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Ridge View will challenge rival Richland Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sumter is set to face off against their familiar foe Cheraw at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Gamecocks 3.4, the Braves 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
