Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Oconee County's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Oconee County had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Islands Sharks 3-0 on Saturday. That's the first time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-0 victory on Saturday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Oconee County took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12, 25-4.

Petra Mooney paced Oconee County's offense, picking up ten kills. Mooney got some help from Fendley Kimbro and her 31 assists. Kimbro was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Oconee County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 36-13 record this season. As for Islands, their loss dropped their record down to 20-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Oconee County beat the Sharks by a score of 3-0 later that day.
