Football Preview: Williamsburg Wildcats vs. Mariemont Warriors
The Williamsburg Wildcats will take on the Mariemont Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Williamsburg focused on turnovers this week as team gave up five on Friday.
Last Friday, Williamsburg lost to New Richmond on the road by a 34-19 margin.
Defeat or not, Williamsburg got some senior leadership from Kian Stamper and Michael Corcoran. Stamper picked up 173 receiving yards, while Corcoran. threw for 449 yards and two touchdowns. With that strong performance, Stamper is now averaging an impressive 111.5 receiving yards per game. A healthy portion of that aerial production (126 yards to be exact) also went to Landon Hittle.
Meanwhile, Mariemont won against Norwood on Friday with 48 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Mariemont simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Norwood 48-6 at home. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly 42 points.
Williamsburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mariemont, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Williamsburg didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mariemont when the teams last played back in September of 2023, but they still walked away with a 34-28 win.
