Basketball Recap: La Salle Institute Skates Past Hoosick Falls with Ease

There's no place like home for La Salle Institute, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Hoosick Falls Panthers 63-31. Given the Cadets' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st in New York, while the Panthers are ranked 607th in New York), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hoosick Falls' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ava Case, who posted 18 points and eight steals, and Avery McMahon, who scored eight points. Alyssa Edghill also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

La Salle Institute now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Hoosick Falls, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.

Looking ahead, La Salle Institute will take on Coxsackie-Athens at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hoosick Falls does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
