Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Hi-Plains

Hi-Plains waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Weldon Valley Warriors. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Hi-Plains had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-23, 25-12, 25-21.

Brianna Rueb paced Hi-Plains' offense, picking up 16 kills. Rueb got some help from Alexis Harvie and her 36 assists. Harvie was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Hi-Plains' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Weldon Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hi-Plains will host Burlington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weldon Valley, they will challenge Flatirons Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
