Basketball Game Preview: Eau Claire Shamrocks vs. Mid-Carolina Rebels

Eau Claire is 1-6 against Mid-Carolina since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eau Claire Shamrocks will challenge the Mid-Carolina Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Eau Claire will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Fairfield Central, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Eau Claire strolled past Fairfield Central with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 42-25.

Eau Claire's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Syteria Bethel, who posted 16 points. Bethel is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Milaysha Chisholm was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Mid-Carolina's and Chester's game on Friday was close at halftime, but Mid-Carolina turned on the heat in the second half with 33 points. Mid-Carolina breezed by Chester to the tune of 54-25.

Eau Claire has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Mid-Carolina, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

Eau Claire skirted past Mid-Carolina 46-44 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eau Claire since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
