Having just played yesterday, the Bellevue West Thunderbirds will head out on the road to face off against the Elkhorn South Storm at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bellevue West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.

Bellevue West took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Marian as Bellevue West made off with a 70-50 win. The score was close at the half, but the Thunderbirds pulled away in the second half with 44 points.

It was another big night for Stevie Harley, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Da?Nyla Tatum was another key player, going 6 for 9 on her way to 17 points and five assists.

Bellevue West was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Elkhorn South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Papillion-LaVista South, falling 61-32.

Bellevue West picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Elkhorn South, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Bellevue West against Elkhorn South in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, as the squad secured a 77-43 win. In that contest, Bellevue West amassed a halftime lead of 33-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
