Central Valley takes loss despite strong efforts from Robert Short and Vincent Vanpal

Recap: Central Valley Falcons vs. Yreka Miners

The Central Valley Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by Yreka on the road and fell 82-47. Central Valley has struggled against Yreka recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Vincent Vanpal and Robert Short certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Vanpal scored 13 points along with five assists, while Short scored six points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marcus Saechao, who scored six points.

Central Valley dropped their record down to 2-20 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Yreka, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season.

Central Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Oroville at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Oroville is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Yreka, Yreka and University Prep will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. University Prep will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
