Basketball Recap: Delta Panthers vs. Montpelier Locomotives

Delta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 61-46 fall against the Montpelier Locomotives. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Locomotives apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Montpelier's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was C.J. Fidler, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Fidler has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 45% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Wesly Hartsock, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 12 points and five boards.

Delta's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Montpelier, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delta will host Genoa Area at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montpelier, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Edgerton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
