Basketball Recap: Carver Collegiate Academy Comes Up Short

Carver Collegiate Academy was the 59-45 winner over GEO Next Generation when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Carver Collegiate Academy Rams took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the GEO Next Generation Tigers on Friday.

GEO Next Generation found their leader in sophomore Ivoryana Powell, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Elivia Hill, who earned seven points.

Carver Collegiate Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-6. As for GEO Next Generation, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carver Collegiate Academy has already played their next contest (against Frederick A. Douglass), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the GEO Next Generation Tigers face off against the Varnado Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
