Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lexington). They put the hurt on the Tanner Rattlers with a sharp 19-0 victory on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Golden Bears as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Lexington got a massive performance out of Tate Gamble, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Gamble is becoming a predictor of the Golden Bears' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 6-16 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Zane Kilburn, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Gamble wasn't the only one making solid contact: Lexington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Golden Bears are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lexington's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 9-17. As for Tanner, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lexington beat the Rattlers by a score of 12-0 on Tuesday.
