The Hilltop Lancers will challenge the Westview Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hilltop is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Hilltop is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Coastal Academy as they made off with a 28-7 win. 28 seems to be a good number for the Lancers as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Leo Mendoza and Lajuan Johnson. Mendoza rushed for 128 yards and three scores while Johnson rushed for 137 yards and one TD. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Mendoza a new career-high.
Hilltop was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. They are a perfect 7-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Meanwhile, Westview strolled past Fallbrook with points to spare last Friday, taking the game 50-32. The win continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.
Westview's win came from a few key players Hilltop will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Matthew Guimond, who threw for 445 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 81.5% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Westview's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise. The Wolverines' leading receiver Kyler Brown was Guimond's top target yet again, picking up 220 receiving yards and three TDs.
Westview didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Charles Jaskowiak and Miles Miranda. With that strong performance, Jaskowiak is now averaging an impressive 5.3 total tackles per game.
Hilltop's record now sits at 8-3. As for Westview, their record is now 6-4.
Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Hilltop has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 205.5 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Westview, though, as they've been averaging only 76 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Hilltop came up short against Westview in their previous matchup back in September, falling 32-21. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
