Soccer Game Preview: Mater Bay Academy vs. International Studies

The Mater Bay Academy Rays are taking a road trip to face off against International Studies at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Mater Bay Academy and five for International Studies.

On Tuesday, Mater Bay Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Greater Miami Academy and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Rays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 524th, while the Warriors are ranked 260th).

International Studies played against Downtown Doral and lost via forfeit.

International Studies' defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Mater Bay Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Mater Bay Academy took their victory against International Studies in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mater Bay Academy since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
