Softball Recap: Dixie's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Dixie dropped their record down to 10-15 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hurricane Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-7 on Tuesday.

Morgan Staheli was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Chesney Robbins also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

As for Hurricane, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-14 record this season. 11 seems to be a good number for they as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

On Hurricane's side, Nala Alton looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Ashlyn Hirschi was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Clyde, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Dixie is set to challenge their familiar foe Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hurricane will face off against rival Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
