East Grand Rapids was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Bedford Kicking Mules 2-1. This was payback for the Pioneers, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Coco Bossardet paced East Grand Rapids' offense, picking up seven kills. Bossardet got some help from Heidi White and her 20 assists. Finally, Madelyn Hungerford kept East Grand Rapids' defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Despite the loss, Bedford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ellerie King had 11 digs.

East Grand Rapids has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season. As for Bedford, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.

East Grand Rapids didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Marian on the 11th. As for Bedford, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Flushing on the 11th.
