Softball Recap: Liberty Christian's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Liberty Christian came into Thursday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Indianapolis Shortridge Blue Devils with a sharp 19-9 victory on Thursday. The Lions not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2024 (when they won 30-16).

The team relied heavily on Addie Novakoski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Claire Callahan was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Liberty Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Liberty Christian's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty Christian will challenge Randolph Southern at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Rebels at the right time seeing as the Rebels are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, they will head out to face off against Bethesda Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
