Ottoville and Kalida are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Ottoville Big Green will challenge the Kalida Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Ottoville sitting on ten straight victories and Kalida on 12.

Ottoville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They strolled past Hilltop with points to spare, taking the game 49-30. Given the Big Green's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd in Ohio, while the Cadets are ranked 189th in Ohio), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Kalida beat Calvert 36-30 on Tuesday.

Ottoville better keep an eye on Meredith Bockrath. She was instrumental in Kalida's win, putting up 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That's the most steals Bockrath has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Addilyn Huber, who had 15 points and five boards.

Kalida's win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Ottoville, they pushed their record up to 24-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Ottoville didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Kalida when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 55-49 win. Will Ottoville repeat their success, or does Kalida have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
