After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lemont, Clinton was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Union County Patriots by a score of 11-7. The high-scoring effort was just what the Dragons needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Clinton is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Union County, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clinton will take on Lemont at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lemont HS have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Union County, they will face off against Claiborne at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
