Basketball Preview: Pana Panthers vs. Hillsboro Hiltoppers
Pana and the Hiltoppers are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Pana Panthers will be playing at home against the Hillsboro Hiltoppers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pana focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday.
Pana's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Vandalia 56-22. Pana was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-8.
Meanwhile, Hillsboro had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Lincolnwood on the road to the tune of 52-25 on Monday. The score was close at the half, but Hillsboro pulled away in the second half with 37 points.
Pana's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-24. As for Hillsboro, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-15.
