Football Recap: Orange Grove Starts off Right with Win over Rockport-Fulton

Orange Grove gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They secured a 34-28 W over the Rockport-Fulton Pirates. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 42-38 win the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Orange Grove found their leader in sophomore Daniel Bahn, who rushed for 186 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.6 yards per carry. Bahn showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 69 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Linden Rodriguez, who threw for 139 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes.

When it comes to explaining why Rockport-Fulton lost, don't look at Traey Alvarado. Despite the final result, he rushed for 112 yards and two scores. The Pirates also got help from Jackson Grubert, who showed off his sure hands for 90 receiving yards.

Orange Grove didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 41-0 victory against Jones on the 5th. As for Rockport-Fulton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 48-28 win against San Diego on the 5th.
