Basketball Recap: Bayou Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cleveland Central on Tuesday, Bayou Academy came back down to earth. The Colts took a blow against the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots on Thursday, falling 72-44. The Colts have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Erick Dampier, Jr. had an outrageously good game for Madison-Ridgeland Academy as he dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Dampier, Jr. is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 20 games he's played dating back to last season. Zavian Carr was another key player, going 5-for-8 en route to 14 points.

Bayou Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bayou Academy will welcome DeSoto at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, they will be playing at home against Kirk Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Monday.
