Baseball Game Preview: Prospect Ridge Academy Miners vs. Salida Spartans

The Prospect Ridge Academy Miners will take on the Salida Spartans at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Salida will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Prospect Ridge Academy extended their winning streak to four on Monday. Everything went the Miners' way against Kent Denver as they made off with a 17-7 victory.

Avery Stark made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Prospect Ridge Academy got a massive performance out of Josiah Bote, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Salida now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.
