Football Game Preview: Oakman Wildcats vs. Vinemont Eagles + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Tyler Thomas and Gabriel Herrera are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Oakman Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Vinemont Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Oakman lost 32-10 to Winfield on Friday. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Vinemont had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 22-19 victory over the Green Wave. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since August 23, 2024.

Oakman has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.8 points over those games. As for Vinemont, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Oakman couldn't quite get it done against Vinemont in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 20-7. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
