Basketball Recap: Isaac Nei's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clarke County over Rappahannock County

Clarke County lost against Rappahannock County back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Clarke County Eagles took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rappahannock County. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Nei, who went 6 of 14 en route to 16 points along with six steals and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Sipe, who posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Clarke County's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Rappahannock County, they moved to 6-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Clarke County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Madison County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clarke County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Rappahannock County, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Luray at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Luray is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.3 points per game this season.
