Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge Christian Takes a Loss

Blue Ridge Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-32 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jefferson Christian Academy Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bears have suffered since February 3, 2024.

Jefferson Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abby Reed, who shot 41% from the field to rack up 15 points along with seven boards and three steals. Reed's big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Hallie Merrix, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Blue Ridge Christian's record is now 20-5. As for Jefferson Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.

As of now, neither Blue Ridge Christian nor Jefferson Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
